Air Division

Maintenance

Please note, the instructions listed are for all 200T, 300T and 400T models only. For all other serviceable air models, we will be contacting all Clients every 11-13 months to set up service as needed.

Observe the following important cleaning and service notes for the select parts of your unit.

Pre-filters (Front, metal)

  • Vacuum every 2-4 weeks.
  • Wash with warm water and mild soap every 3-6 months. (if needed)
  • Let dry thoroughly before replacing.
  • This is a permanent filter and does not require replacement unless damaged. Handle with care.

Electronic Cells (Large metal centre)

  • Your cell should be cleaned after the first 30 days of operation and then every 2-3 months.
  • You have 2 options for cleaning;
  1. Simply place your cell GENTLY on your dishwasher and run on a normal cycle. Make sure it is dry before replacing. (You should run your dishwasher empty on a quick cycle to wash away any residue before loading with dishes)
  2. In a bath or laundry tub, soak cell in hot water and dish soap for 15 minutes. Rinse in hot water. If your cell is still dirty you may require our cell cleaning solution. You can add the solution to the first soak or spray directly on the cell after you have soaked it in hot water. Be sure to rinse all solution and residue off with hot water.
  • To speed up dry time you can place it over a vent in the winter or out in the sun in the summer. Placing the cell on an angle to dry will also speed up the dry time.
  • *Important – Although your cell is made of metal and may seem indestructible, it can be easily damaged if not handled with care. If mishandled you could bend the collection plates or pull off the charging wires. If this happens from misuse it will not be covered by your warranty. (See warranty for details.)
  • Simply wiping or vacuuming will NOT get this part clean and could damage the part.

V.O.C. (Back Filters)

  • Do Not Wash
  • You should replace this filter every 6 months to eliminate harmful gasses and odours from smoking, pets or cooking.
  • Reset the unit after replacing.

UV Bulbs

  • Change the UV bulb every year or when the unit indicates replacement. Current price is $39.95, and is subject to change without notice.
  • Reset the unit after replacing.

If you would like to set up a service call, or discuss your replacement filter needs, call us at 905-688-6488 or toll free at 1-877-342-6224 or send us an email to linda@ncahomeservices.com.

DO NOT ADD MULTIPLE BAGS. 1- 4 bags per year, depending on water usage. Country Conditioner or Soft +
  • Same as above for salt. When Res-up or Res-Care tank is empty, refill.

We can supply and deliver salt if needed.

Please be sure to know where your water comes from prior to consulting this list. It will be either city or country water, and country would be either a well or a cistern.

Water Station – Drinking Water Station

  • Shut off Valves - are the 2 blue dials, one located on the holding tank and one on the cold water line coming into the unit.
  • Leaks - If you notice a leak or water pooling around the Water Station, turn BOTH shut off valves to the closed position. OPEN faucet to relieve pressure. Wipe up water, try to locate the leak and call our Service Department. If you determine that the leak is coming from somewhere OTHER than our equipment, please call a plumber. Vibrating, humming or cloudy water – This simply means that there is some air in your unit. It is harmless to the equipment and is absolutely safe to consume. The more you use the system, the sooner the air will move through.
  • Water tastes weird or bad – Your water will definitely taste different after removing chlorine or minerals, or if this is your first experience with properly treated drinking water. As with any change, it will seem different at first, but will soon become the only water you want for you and your family.
  • Water running slowly - City water – You have emptied the holding tank. It should refill within 30 minutes.Well or Cistern water – Check that your pressure/ jet pump is set to 60psi (40psi at the bottom end). The Northern Clarity Water Station requires a minimum of 40psi at all times to maintain proper pressure at your tap.

  • System is running at 2am – The system is regenerating and is set to do so late at night while no water is being used in the home.
  • When to add salt – Lift off the cover and, using a slotted spoon, draw from the bottom of the tank. If there is no salt, add 1(one) 20kg bag. DO NOT ADD MULTIPLE BAGS. 1- 4 bags per year, depending on water usage.
  • Flashing or blinking light – Your power has gone out. Push the middle button (up arrow) once. The unit has a 48 hour memory back-up and will NOT require re-programming. Please call our Service Department if your power has been out for more than 48 hours.
